I think from what I've heard you just exit at Arivaca and take Arivaca road west. Can anyone help me out with some directions. Thanks

Dude, that sounds about right.  I'd Google map it, for a better understanding. :)

Hey thanks man. I checked it out and it looks pretty straight forward. Do most people loop it with Ruby road or do they just come back up Arivaca. How long does it usually take.

I have only been out there once and we just came back the same way we went in. For our group it was like a 3.5-4 hour ride because we stopped for lunch and all that and bull shitted at gas stations. It could be done in 1.5 hours I think

on I-19, get off at exit 48. Head west on Arivaca Rd across from the Longhorn restaurant, can't miss that, lol.

It's about 25 miles more or less. In town, you'll come to a T, just turn around and head back.

Be careful with the speed on Arivaca Rd. Not many decreasing radius turns, but alot of blind ones, and alot of elevation changes and dips. ALOT of Border Patrol cruising that road. They won't mess with you, but be aware that they haul ass on that road in some bg trucks and take up some space (coming the other direction). I've spent lot of time out there.

It's a fun road, but it can bite if you're not familiar with it.

From Green Valley, you can be out and back in just over an hour.

Thanks for the replies. I went out today with nine guys and we rode it in about an hour and a half. It is definately a sweet road especially for how close i live to it. Is there any other roads that fun in our area or are they all closely monitered by police.

Just keep going until you hit rt286 and head north until you hit rt86, turn left for about 6 miles or so and ride up Kitt Peak.

Turn around and head back and you can make a day of it. OR, you can continue past rt286 and head back into Tucson (you're on Ajo Way). OR you can turn off Ajo Way and head into the Gate's Pass area near Old Tucson Studios.

Lot's of options....

Dave

FWIW, the road up Kitt Peak is all chip seal. It's alright to cruise up and check out the sights and tour the observatory, but for "riding" it's pretty crappy.

So, I'm no expert, been there twice, don't think the road is crappy, dusty in some areas, curves top to bottom, and I've had a blast each time.

I looked over the side on a few of the tiny straights, its hard to get target fixated up there, lots of blind and I mean BLIND corners and yes I have a little fear of heights....lol
