on my 07 zx-6r that was stolen, i had both an anti theft policy and gap insurance, both from safe-guard, both costing $500 a piece.
the anti theft required little documentation when the claim was made, and boom, $5000 credit at the store i purchased the bike from. i was allowed to use it on any vehicle the store sold (used or new) and i did not have to purchase a new anti theft policy on the replacement or anything trickey or shadey. i highly reccommend this.
i also have gap insurance, for which i am still jumping thru hoops to get paid out. over three months, and many, MANY faxes later, they've just recently told me which documents i've (repeatedly) sent were the wrong ones, and that i in fact have to hand write a letter to my finance co. to get the proper docs. (in fact, they didn't really tell me all that, just some names/descriptions of the info they needed. not document titles either, just what they call certain pieces of info.) i'm not so sure i'd reccommend this one. i'll have to update this when (if) i can ever get it all straight, and see what they actually pay out.
i wish the dealer had given me everything i might need to make a claim, or that the gap folks would request the docs needed directly from my lender.
p.s. the anti-theft policy pays out either $5000 or the value of the bike, whichever is less
